The University of Kansas has six Student Pathways for you to consider as you make decisions regarding your major and career aspirations. Each pathway has curriculum and engagement recommendations based on the KU Core and other courses, events, opportunities, and experiences at KU.

Schedule an appointment with your Academic Advisor to talk about how your major and degree plan align with your career goals.

Explore the Pathways
Business, Communication, and Leadership
This pathway is for students who identify an interest in management and leadership and would like to learn about strategically planning company and project outcomes, influencing and guiding employee development, motivating and persuading others.
Creative Arts and Design
This pathway is for students who are interested in learning about arts and design, using media, sound, language or objects to express their understanding of the world; enjoy brainstorming, experimentation, or collaboration to produce works of art in its various forms.
Education and Public Service
This pathway for students who identify an interest in teaching, facilitating, or training individuals of any age, have a strong desire to be an advocate for others, would like to evaluate and assess individual or community needs, have interest in law and public policy, and/or seek to help individuals thrive in their environments.

Health and Behavioral Sciences
This pathway is for students who feel a strong desire to help and heal, are drawn to licensed medical and health fields and/or want to implement strategies that promote individual and community wellness.
Languages and Cultures
This pathway is for students who are interested in learning about people and cultures, would like to strengthen their communication and research skills, or who want to broaden their understanding of beliefs, art, and literature, in order to better understand our complex and diverse global society.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math
This pathway is for students who are interested in innovative construction and design, hands-on learning, exploring how things work, experimenting to determine what is possible, diving into data, and solving problems that impact the world through analysis, scientific knowledge, and technical skills.
