Job postings for internships, full-time jobs and off-campus part-time jobs are listed on Handshake. Campus jobs (part-time and full-time) are listed on the KU employment website. Career Advisors are available to help students search for positions, prepare application materials, help prepare for interviews, and prepare an overall search strategy. A variety of support is available to KU students for constructing and updating resumes and cover letters, including: Career Advising appointments for Resumes, CVs and Cover letters (30- and 60-minute appointment options), Quick reviews through the Resume Dropbox, and our popular Resume and Cover Letter booklet which lists practical tips and a wide range of samples for KU students, available at the career center website.
KU hosts over 20 career fairs and networking events each academic year to help students explore a wide range of career interests and opportunities. All KU students are invited to attend (first year through graduate). The Professional House of Garments, aka The P.H.O.G., is available to all KU students and offers free professional and business casual attire appropriate for career fairs, interviews, and the workplace Visit the P.H.O.G. (located in room 203 Summerfield Hall) for suits, blazers, skirts, button-down shirts, and more to help you look your best and make a lasting positive impression as you enter the professional world. KU Career Services offers free professional career advising support to all KU students (first year through graduate). From career exploration support, resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, reviews and networking assistance, job and internship searches, LinkedIn reviews and networking leads, career advisors help students get started and keep momentum in their career planning throughout their KU experience. The Student Pathways program is a career exploration program available to all KU students. Six student pathways covering common career and academic interests help students explore majors, classes, research opportunities, internships and campus engagement opportunities. Students who sign up receive customized bi-weekly newsletters full of curated career advice and invitations to career programming throughout the year. Presenting a professional headshot on your LinkedIn profile or other social media leaves a positive impression on potential employers. The UCC offers students the opportunity to get professional headshots taken for free through our photo sessions, held throughout the academic semester. Photos are available on a first-come, first-served basis. More information can be found at the professional headshot page.
